Released in 1971, Melody Nelson's story was Serge Gainsbourg's first concept album. Written in collaboration with composer Jean-Claude Vannier, it tells the story of Melody Nelson, a young red-haired girl portrayed by the singer's muse, Jane Birkin. She lends her voice to the character on several songs of the album and her image by posing on the cover. As expected, Gamma Agency was present to document the mythical photo session.

Escrito en colaboración con el compositor Jean-Claude Vannier, narra la historia de Melody Nelson, una joven pelirroja interpretada por la musa del cantante, Jane Birkin. Esta última presta su voz al personaje en varias canciones del álbum y su imagen al posar en la portada. Como era de esperar, la agencia Gamma estuvo presente para documentar la mítica sesión fotográfica.
