Description from the seller
MY MAGICAL WAY OF THINKING
fine art photo print by Inna Etuvgi
“My magical way of thinking is not about fantasy; it is about empathy. It is the ability to project my own emotions onto the smallest forms of life, finding a mirror for my soul in a single Cladonia lichen.” — Inna Etuvgi
This photo is exploration of nature as an extension of human consciousness. This perspective is deeply rooted in my Chukchi heritage, where animism is not a set of rituals but a way of survival through deep perception. In this tradition, one must be "their own shaman"—sensory, attuned, and capable of feeling the life in all things.
For me, this Cladonia lichen is a mystical entity and even an extension of myself — a reflection of me. The raindrop crowning it acts as a "head"—a translucent vessel reflecting complex emotions and thoughts. This is the magic of empathy: the line between the observer and the observed dissolves.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Inna Etuvgi is a Swedish-Chukchi artist whose work defines the concept of Cybernetic Animism—a bridge between indigenous Arctic intuition and technical precision. Raised in a remote village in Chukotka and trained in technical cybernetics, Etuvgi explores the shared "soul" of natural ecosystems and digital algorithms.
Living with Aphantasia—the inability to visualize mental images—Etuvgi uses her camera and Generative AI as a "visual prosthesis" to externalize deep emotional landscapes. Her macro photography magnifies nature’s smallest details, urging a shift from a human-centered worldview to one of interconnectedness.
Internationally recognized as an Arte Laguna Prize finalist (Venice) and a recipient of the Swedish Arts Grants Committee grant, Etuvgi’s work is held in private collections worldwide. As art critic Tabish Khan notes: “Her work transports us to other worlds—both real and imaginary, but always in harmony with nature.”
