Recueil dit de Maurepas, a 6-volume French-language edition by Auguste Poulet-Malassis (1865), a numbered limited edition printed on papier de Hollande, copy no. 19, bound in half-leather, with about 1970 pages in very good condition.
Description from the seller
Important First-Edition Proof No. 19 – Extremely rare typographic impression struck on Dutch paper — difference from ordinary commercial editions (lacking numbering) or late-hand-numbered copies with ink. This lot is Proof No. 19, one of the very first in the limited edition of only 100 copies on fine Dutch paper (papier de Hollande). Its exceptional peculiarity lies in the numbering impressed directly on the press with movable lead type. In the very few "first" copies (the lowest numbers), the printers stopped the press and physically composed the number in the frame for every single copy. This gives the page a sharpness and typographic elegance markedly superior, making it a certified and authenticated showpiece since its birth in the workshop. Volumes in excellent condition — about 1970 pages.
