Pompon spent most of his life in the service of other artists. He directed Rodin's workshop from 1890 to 1895, before becoming the assistant of René de Saint-Marceaux until 1916. In search of his own style, he was greatly influenced by the rise of Japonism and his admiration for Egyptian art.
It was only at the age of 67 that he rose to fame, with the exhibition of his famous White Bear.
Parastone has successfully been creating decorative objects for almost 50 years, some of timeless classical beauty and others more aligned with current trends. The museum-piece collection presented under the name Mouseion forms an important part of the collection. Besides exact copies of major works of art, the Mouseion series also comprises three-dimensional interpretations of paintings and drawings by many artists, from Hieronymus Bosch to Salvador Dalí.
