A white and golden dust covers the blue field like frost, giving the surface a dense, crystalline texture — more opaque at the top, more saturated as it descends toward the bottom of the canvas. The poppies, from coral to dark burgundy, emerge from this weave as if they must push their way through something solid, not simply sit atop it. The stems, slender green threads, remain clearly visible and give the central group a bright, rooted structure.
