"I LOVE ART OFF THE BEATEN PATH"

Richard Orlinski has been, since 2015, the best-selling French contemporary artist in the world. He began his artistic career in 2004 and created his first work, a red resin crocodile, which quickly became an iconic piece in the sculptor’s bestiary.
The artist draws inspiration from pop culture, everyday objects, and the popular. Quickly, Richard Orlinski develops new sculptures, often animals, all symbols of freedom, power, and passion. The result is expressive works with pop colors and a facet-edged style that travel the world.
Very quickly, exhibiting his often spectacular works in unusual, open-air venues becomes his hallmark.
Driven by a desire to democratize art and make it accessible to the widest audience, Richard Orlinski explores all means of expression, and his art knows no boundaries. In 2021, he was named Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters by Culture Minister Roselyne Bachelot-Narquin.
With several million followers on social networks, Richard Orlinski gathers a community of enthusiasts and passionate fans who are deeply involved. An undeniable source of inspiration for the artist who commits 100% to each of his projects. “I truly believe in the power of art; often people don’t dare to push open a gallery or museum door, so I make the museum come to them!”

(circa 100 BCE)
The famous statue of Aphrodite is the symbol of eternal beauty. We know her as the Venus de Milo, or Aphrodite of Melos, after the Greek island where she was discovered in 1820. Aphrodite, whom the Romans later named Venus, was the goddess of love and beauty, born from the silvery foam (aphros) of the sea. The style of the Venus de Milo features both Hellenistic and classical characteristics. Her torso is much more classical than the lower part of her body. The statue was carved from seven blocks of marble. The goddess is depicted in a characteristic contrapuntal pose: supported on one leg, slightly hip-swayed, which gives her body provocative curves. We can hardly imagine today how the statue originally looked, with flamboyant colors, adornments, and jewelry. Aphrodite probably held in her left hand the apple offered by Paris of Troy.

"decorative object, luxury item, table art, collector, interior decoration, statuette, sculpture, no panther, no kong, no stik, no koons, no basquiat, no banksy, no swoon, pop art"
