Description from the seller

Royal Box

Hand-shaped and hand-painted ceramic piece, with high-temperature stoneware and engobes. The work reproduces a baking powder tin of the Royal brand. Unique piece, unsigned.

Belén Iglesias Molli (Buenos Aires, 1993)

From a young age she developed a strong artistic inclination, influenced by her father and grandparents, architects and great draftsmen, as well as by her mother, a kindergarten teacher, who instilled in her a love for craftsmanship and manual work.
Traveling for her father's work to Japan in the 1990s and her involvement in the supervision of a traditional Japanese house destined to become a museum of contemporary ceramics in Argentina (Casa MINKA) sparked in her an early interest in this culture. The spaces, along with the objects and stories she brought back from her trips, constituted an early and highly influential first contact with Japanese atmosphere and sensitivity. This bond was further consolidated during her architectural training — graduated in 2017 from the University of Buenos Aires — and when she began her ceramic practice in the workshop of Maximiliano Abbiati, an Argentine ceramist and professor at the National University of the Arts.
In 2019 her growing interest in ceramics led her to move to Valencia, a city near Manises, a historic reference of ceramics and home to the International Ceramic Biennial. Between 2022 and 2025 she participated in small group exhibitions and continued developing her practice in different studios until opening her own in 2026, where she currently creates all of her works.
With a training deeply marked by architecture, drawing, and Japanese culture, her ceramic work dialogues with objects presented as cultural artifacts capable of condensing identity, memory, and desire. With special interest in the idea of the traveling object, crossing cultural barriers, accumulating layers of meaning, and transforming its value and presence over time and context.
Her pieces are hand-modeled and hand-painted in stoneware and high-temperature engobes, through a slow and meticulous process, in tension with the consumption logic associated with the objects they represent, reconfiguring their value and presence.
