Artist biography:
JOSE FRANCISCO ARIAS TORRADO. Painter by profession. He feeds on the light of day and night, the color of the earth and the sea. His natural and urban landscapes demonstrate a great mastery of technique and transport us to a realism almost photographic. Of Extremaduran origin, he settles in Suances and becomes imbued with this special light of our towns and landscapes, of our coasts and rivers; of our atmosphere and our winds; of our strength and our calm. And from all of them his paintings are born with a background rooted in our land and its grandeur. José Arias Torrado has painted our hushed sea and our bays in calm, our towns and cities, our days and our nights.
