BIOGRAPHY OF THE ARTIST:
Germaine Nordmann, born Germaine Altschueler, was a French painter born in Paris on May 14, 1902, and died on November 19, 1995, according to the archives of the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris. Some commercial databases list 1997 as the year of death.
She pursued her artistic activity during the 20th century, mainly devoted to figurative painting. Her production includes portraits, still lifes, floral compositions, human figures, and genre scenes.
Her work shows influences of Post-Impressionism and French modern painting, with a personal interpretation of color and form.
Among her documented works is Portrait of Ossip Zadkine, created around 1954 and housed in the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris since 1956.
