ARTIST'S BIOGRAPHY:
Germaine Nordmann, born Germaine Altschueler, was a French painter born in Paris on May 14, 1902 and died on November 19, 1995, according to the files of the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris. Some commercial databases list 1997 as the year of death.
She carried out her artistic activity during the 20th century, primarily devoted to figurative painting.
Her body of work includes portraits, still lifes, floral compositions, human figures, and genre scenes.
Her work shows influences of Post-Impressionism and French modern painting, with a personal interpretation of color and form.
Among her documented works is Portrait of Ossip Zadkine, created around 1954 and kept at the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris since 1956.
