NO RESERVE Paardenhoofd is an original oil painting by G. J. Overbeek (1882-1947), created circa 1930–1940 in the Netherlands, in Impressionist style, sold with frame, measuring 38 cm high by 31.5 cm wide and weighing 2 kg, hand-signed.

Gijsbertus Johannes van Overbeek
Born Dordrecht - Died Rotterdam was a Dutch illustrator, painter, draftsman and bookbinding designer. He worked until 1947 in Hillegersberg.
He studied at the Academy of Visual Arts in Rotterdam. He made paintings of harbor views, landscapes, cityscapes but he became especially known for his dozens of works with images of working horses such as a horse or horses in front of a cart.
He was also employed by several publishers such as the Nederlands Boekhuis and J.M. Bredee as illustrator and bookbinding designer.
Van Overbeek was a member of the Independents in Amsterdam.
Oil on canvas, canvas size 24 cm by 30 cm, in very good condition.
Carefully packed and sent by registered mail.
The frame is not part of the auction and will be supplied free of charge with the winning lot (damaged, in fair to good condition).
