AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Mini vertical tasting: vintages 2024 and 2025.

Giocondina's Malbec comes from a small plot with predominantly chalky soil, which gives the wine freshness, lots of fruit, and minerality: in 2024 500 bottles were produced, while in 2025 only 300.

FINCA LA SIMO is located at 1100 m asl in Paraje Altamira, south of the Valle de Uco, Mendoza, Argentina, and produces exclusively Malbec. Its philosophy centers on 'minimal intervention', both in the vineyard and in the winery, to let the terroir express itself.

In our vineyard the use of systemic chemical substances is banned, as well as any other material derived from plastic. Harvesting is done by hand with 16 kg crates, which are immediately transported to the winery, where the wine is produced and bottled.

Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts, and the wine undergoes a semi-carbonic maceration, then rests for 6 months in second- and third-use French oak barriques, in order to extract aromas and flavors without letting the wood dominate. Finally, a further 6–8 months in bottle and the wine is ready to drink (or it can age for at least 10 years).

Giocondina's Malbec is just making its way onto the international market, so at the moment it has no reviews or scores from critics. These are the first bottles in circulation—be among the first to taste a new wine from one of the world’s most renowned terroirs.

Both bottles are offered in excellent condition, filled to the neck, with an intact wax capsule and a label engraved in gold leaf, and will be shipped via insured mail, carefully packed and protected by bubble mailers.
