Leipzig: Kurt Wolff Verlag, copyright 1913 [ca. 1917]. 46, [1] pages. 21.5cm x 12.5cm. Softcover in the publisher’s black wrappers with a blue label on the front. Printed by Dietsch & Brückner in Weimar. Likely the third edition of this fragment by Franz Kafka which later became the first chapter in the posthumously published novel “Amerika”. Published as number 3 of the series “Der jüngste Tag”. Despite the copyright stating 1913, this issue is most likely from around 1917, since there is a censoring symbol stamped at the bottom of the title page, which was only in use from 1917 until the end of World War I, and the specific printer (Dietsch & Brückner).

Some rubbing, bumping, and wear to the black wrappers. Some small pieces of the wrappers are broken off at the edges. Some creases to the paper throughout (see photos). Very little browning and spotting throughout. The text is clear, and the binding is solid. Overall, a nice copy in very good- condition.
