Antique Chinese Carved Turquoise Sculpture – 20th Century
Description of the Object:
Splendid and refined Chinese sculpture in genuine natural turquoise, dating to the first half of the 20th century (Republican era / late Qing). The piece is a magnificent example of high Eastern craftsmanship and is masterfully hand-carved from a single block of mineral.
It depicts a graceful traditional female figure (court girl / immortal deity) adorned with flowing drapery, botanical details, and a finely carved bird at her side. The stone's color boasts a magnificent and vivid natural green-blue hue, enriched by structural veins that certify its authenticity.
The sculpture is mounted on its period-appropriate base in exotic wood, finely pierced and hand-shaped with classic geometric motifs.
