Description from the seller
Original artwork by the renowned Mexican artist Jesús Leus (1948-2008).
Represents a nocturnal scene with a couple looking at the moon.
Technique: acrylic on masonite.
Jesús Leuus is a Mexican artist of American origin and has studied at the School of Fine Arts in Mexico.
Deeply inspired by the ancient designs of the Aztecs and Mayas. Leuus composes his rich colors by hand-mixing the acrylic pigment. He uses marble dust mixed with acrylic paint to achieve dense and very particular three-dimensional textures. His recognizable style reflects a balanced composition of color, lines and minimalist figures. The artist has developed a distinctive style, based on ancient history but unmistakably contemporary and modern. He paints monumental figures that express love, sadness, wealth, poverty, and life.
He is one of the most prominent modern painters in Mexico today.
His international exhibitions have taken him to Barcelona, Madrid, Canada, Venezuela and Quebec.
Jesús Leuus’s works can be appreciated in some of the world's most prestigious galleries and are part of the collections of the Modern Art Museums of Mexico City, New York, New Orleans, Los Angeles and Tucson,
Widely recognized in the United States.
No two works by the artist are the same although they may be similar.
