Vintage circa 1950 mid-century diamond solitaire ring in 18 k white gold with a raised scalloped starburst setting, featuring one natural 1.13 ct fancy light brownish yellow diamond (I1) with GRA Gem Report 1810039491, EU size 54 / US 6¾, total ring weight 3.2 g, made by Firma Boschmans, Antwerp; well-preserved condition with minor wear.

Type of jewel: Mid-century diamond solitaire ring.
Condition: In well-preserved condition, especially given this ring’s age.
Country of origin: Belgium.
Style: Mid-century solitaire design with a raised, scalloped starburst-style setting around the single diamond.
Era: Circa 1950.
Material: 18K white gold, touchstone tested.
Diamond: One old European-cut natural diamond, reported at 1.13 ct and graded Natural Fancy Light Brownish Yellow, clarity I1, in the accompanying GRA report.
Traditional gemstone associations: Diamond is traditionally associated with April and the 60th wedding anniversary, and with endurance and lasting commitment.
Maker: Firma Boschmans, Antwerp.
Hallmarks: The maker’s mark inside the shank has a barrel-shaped surround, a form characteristic of Belgium and legally required from 1952 although already in use earlier; the device is a four-leaf clover. The mark is difficult to read.
