Painted circa 1999, signed and dated bottom right, original work.
Oil on marouflaged canvas: 33 x 19 cm., collage of old sheet music around the violin. The original gallery frame is included: 50x35 cm.
A. Koupetzian, student of Martiros Saryan (1880-1972), the greatest Armenian artist.
Koupetzian became famous for his cubist compositions, the so-called synthetic cubism, initially invented by Braque and Picasso around 1910.
After embracing this style in the 1970s, A. Koupetzian significantly developed it, adding depth and colors never before observed.
The works are widely present in national exhibitions and museums in Russia, Italy, the USA, the United Kingdom, and China.
