Many influences emanate from the Ukrainian photographer Ruslan Lobanov’s work. Among them cinema, fashion, but above all the deliberate eroticism of the sacred monster Helmut Newton. A fervent admirer of the Australian photographer, Ruslan Lobanov is also known for his black-and-white nude photographs of women. Behind each shot, the staging and the attitude of the characters tell a story whose ending is for the viewer to decide.

Ruslan Lobanov is one of the most influential artists in Eastern Europe. When he photographs female nudes, he draws inspiration from cinema and fashion and creates erotic photographs in which the sensual bodies of women appear unabashedly. Breaking established codes, these women embody female freedom which earned the photographer a distinction in Beverly Hills at the International Color Awards in 2015, and they feature prominently in collaborations with Playboy and L’Officiel, as well as with the cosmetics group L’Oréal.
