Vintage original Geloso French Radio Advertising Posters – 1930s
A striking framed pair of original French promotional advertisements for Geloso, featuring vintage radio equipment, microphones, amplifiers and radio components.
The stylish 1930s graphics, bold red Geloso lettering and illustrated figures make these advertisements an excellent piece of early radio and commercial design history.
Historical context
Geloso was an important Italian electronics manufacturer founded in Milan in 1931 by engineer John (Giovanni) Geloso. The company became known for producing radio components, amplifiers, microphones and complete equipment for both professionals and radio enthusiasts.
Geloso played an important role in the development of European radio culture, offering technically advanced yet accessible components during the rapid expansion of broadcasting in the 1930s and following decades. The company also became well known for its technical publications, which supported radio technicians and hobbyists.
These French-language advertisements illustrate Geloso's international reach and promote the type of radio and audio technology that was at the heart of the rapidly developing industry of the period. They are particularly attractive examples of 1930s vintage advertising, combining technical imagery with distinctive period graphics.
The two original advertisements have been placed together in a black frame, creating a strong decorative presentation.
From the collection of a former radio shop owner, adding an especially fitting provenance to these historic radio advertisements.
