Description from the seller
Artwork no.566
Dimensions: 86,00 x 100,00 (cm)
I create paintings using acrylic colors and thousands of small pieces of recycled paper: everyday paper becomes art instead of ending up in the garbage. In my latest works I have focused on the theme of women treated as objects (dolls) and too often victims of violence, and these are the latest pieces I have realized.
"Not your doll" - "I am not your doll" is a series where I intend to represent the faces of women with features reminiscent of the most classic dolls, and the message is: "even if I look like a real doll, I am not a doll, I am your doll and you can do with me whatever you want" with all that lies behind, up to, unfortunately, the violence.

This work is unique and original.
Each work is safely packed, wrapped and protected for worldwide shipping, with an included Certificate of Authenticity.
A tracking number is provided for the shipment.
This piece will be shipped without a frame and without a stretcher as the work will be shipped rolled. The canvas is larger in size than the painted dimensions because the greater surface will be useful and necessary to be able to stretch the canvas on a frame.
It is advised to have the work stretched and mounted by a trusted professional who can also advise on an eventual suitable frame.
The images showing the work in indoor environments are for illustrative purposes only and the proportions may appear different. The actual dimensions are those indicated in the description.
Different light sources can give different colors to the photos.

Born in 1974, I am self-taught.
After an initial period dedicated to sculpture there was a long pause of almost twenty years. Since December 2014 I resumed with the "two dimensions" for reasons of time and space, leaving sculpture aside and dedicating myself to acrylic painting.
I love painting abstract landscapes, but recently I am pushing myself to paint also faces of people, both imaginary and real.
For me, painting is "freezing time" in that exact moment; a painting of mine is often a faded memory and therefore my works are "worn, eroded by time". Sometimes the subjects of my paintings are glimpses of walls also eroded by time, with moss and mushrooms that – over time – grow on the surface.
Time that passes inexorably is the main theme of my works.
Coming from a wonderful experience with clay manipulation, I love sculpture, the third dimension, the sense of touch, and my paintings are often characterized by reliefs clearly perceivable both by touch and to the naked eye.
In recent times, after several years in which my works were made from small pieces of recycled paper forming figures, I am pushing myself to explore Optical Art where I use painted wooden disks arranged in lines and grids repeated with mathematical rigor that, seen up close, seem to form an abstract painted work all colorful but the further you move away the more a portrait emerges from the 768 painted wooden disks.
Violence against women is a theme that characterizes almost all my works when I reproduce female faces, precisely to give them a voice when they do not have the strength or courage to report the fact that they are not their partner's dolls and cannot be mistreated or, worse, victims of violence.
