AUTHENTICITY, CONDITION AND DOCUMENTATION

Verifying condition and authenticity is a central element of our activity. Gold and silver jewelry, silverware, watches, signed clothing and accessories are examined according to the characteristics of the individual item and available documentation.

Any certificates or expert reports are provided when explicitly indicated in the description or can be requested before the offer, agreeing availability, content and any costs. Catawiki expert review is separate from our expert activity and does not replace an individual certificate.

Description and photographs document the item offered, its accessories and stated conditions. For used or vintage items, signs of time and use are evaluated in relation to nature, era and the state of the article. Photographs complement the description without limiting liability for inaccurate features or undisclosed defects.

Only accessories and documents specifically indicated are included. The mentioned brands belong to their respective holders; their mention identifies the objects and does not imply affiliation or authorization by the maison.

PREPARATION, SHIPMENT AND DELIVERY

Each item is checked, cleaned or sanitized with methods compatible with materials and preservation, then carefully packaged.

Shipping is tracked and insured according to the service conditions used. Items may be stored in different warehouses: roughly 7–10 days for delivery, unless otherwise indicated in the order, special destinations or customs times. Shipping will occur within the terms provided by Catawiki and communicated for the order; the estimated delivery time does not extend the shipping deadline.

Upon receipt, check the packaging. In case of dents, cuts, openings or breakages, request the courier to note a specific reservation, whenever possible. We recommend photographing the package before and after opening and keeping packaging, protections and label to facilitate any insurance checks.

The absence of reservation, photos or packaging does not automatically waive consumer rights. For consumer sales, transport risk is governed by art. 63 of the Consumer Code.

ASSISTANCE AND REPORTS

For any clarification or problem, contact us via the order messaging on Catawiki, indicating the lot number and describing what you found.

In case of damage, item not as described or missing content, promptly report the problem also to Catawiki support, preferably immediately and in any case within 3 days as per the platform’s procedure, to allow handling of the claim and possible suspension of payment.

This operative deadline does not imply waiver of the right of withdrawal or statutory guarantees under applicable law.

CONSUMER WITHDRAWAL

When the buyer acts as a consumer and the legal requirements are met, they may exercise the right of withdrawal without motive within 14 days of receiving the item, pursuant to Arts. 52 and following of Legislative Decree 206/2005, subject to exceptions provided by law.

The decision must be communicated to the seller via an explicit declaration, also using the Catawiki procedure. The item must be shipped back within 14 days of withdrawal notification.

For simple rethinking, the direct cost of return is borne by the buyer, unless otherwise agreed. Amounts due by law will be reimbursed, including standard initial delivery costs; higher costs for a more expensive delivery chosen by the buyer are not due.

The refund is made without undue delay and within legal deadlines, with the possibility of suspending it until receipt of the item or proof of return, according to the law. Amounts collected directly by Catawiki are managed through the platform according to respective competencies, subject to non-derogable rights.

The buyer is responsible for any decrease in value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to verify nature, characteristics and functioning of the item, within legal limits.

LEGAL WARRANTY AND DEFECTS OF CONFORMITY

In consumer sales, the legal conformity warranty applies as per Arts. 128 et seq. of the Consumer Code, even for used goods, considering prior use and contractually declared characteristics.

Normal duration of the liability is two years from delivery. For used goods, any reduction, not less than one year, applies only if validly agreed and allowed by applicable law.

In case of a conformity defect, the consumer is entitled to remedies provided by law: repair or replacement, where feasible, or price reduction or contract termination when the prerequisites exist.

Our commercial preference is to resolve valid disputes by returning the item and providing a full refund when appropriate, rather than negotiating informal discounts. This preference does not exclude mandatory remedies, including price reduction.

When return depends on a defect attributable to the seller, the necessary costs are borne by us under the law. Costs for other cancellation scenarios are determined by the cause of cancellation and applicable provisions.

RETURNS, REPAIRS AND INTEGRITY OF THE ITEM

Before performing repairs, restorations, adjustments or interventions by third parties, please contact us to verify the issue and agree on a solution. Unauthorised interventions may alter the original state, compromise verifications and affect liability for damages or defects caused by them.

There is no automatic refund for interventions commissioned to third parties. The purchaser’s non-derogable rights remain: an unauthorised intervention does not by itself entail loss of protection for defects independent of the intervention.

The returned item must include accessories and documents received and be protected with proper packaging. Please attach the order reference and, if available, a copy of the proof of purchase. The original receipt is not the only acceptable means to prove purchase.

EXTRA-EU SHIPMENTS AND CUSTOMS COMPLIANCE

For destinations outside the European Union, including the United Kingdom, Switzerland, China, Taiwan, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates, duties, taxes and customs clearance charges may apply, depending on the destination and order conditions. Amounts already collected by the platform should not be automatically deemed due a second time.

When necessary, tax or identifying data may be requested for clearance. The passport number will be requested only if truly required by applicable rules or documented carrier or authority instructions.

We invite buyers to check in advance for import restrictions. For goods subject to special regimes, including CITES or cultural property, shipping remains subject to the legal possibility of export and import and to the necessary documents.

IDENTIFICATION OF THE CUSTOMER AND DATA PROTECTION

In the case of distance sale of valuables subject to identification obligations, a valid identity document is required and remote identification is performed according to the modalities provided by applicable law.

If essential information is missing to comply with a legal obligation, the transaction cannot be completed until regularized. Any cancellation and refund will be managed with Catawiki according to the applicable regulations and conditions, without automatic exclusion of liability.

Personal data will be processed for contractual, tax, customs purposes and for applicable legal obligations, in compliance with EU Regulation 2016/679 and Legislative Decree 196/2003. Only data necessary will be requested, with information on purposes, methods and retention times.
