AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
Very rare edition, a special-issue run of only twenty copies on Japanese paper, with a suite on Chinese paper reserved for “LXXS” (this is no. XIV) of this collection of caricatures full of irony and bitterness drawn by Jean-Louis Forain (1852-1931).
In the “regular” edition there is mention of 100 copies on Chinese paper, not of this special edition.
Forain, La Comédie Parisienne, Paris, Librairie Plon, s.d. [but 1904].
PP.: (VIII), 188, (IV), 188. COMPLETE, with 188 black-and-white full-page drawings and 188 pages with the same illustrations but on Chinese paper.
Esemplare con carte in condizioni complessivamente molto buone. Conservata all'interno anche la brossura editoriale e il dorso.
Legatura coeva in mezza pergamena con titolo in oro al dorso, molto ben conservata. Fogli di guardia bianchi.
