Antique four‑strand yellow gold necklace, 18 karat, featuring Bohemian red garnets with an 18k gold hand‑worked clasp set with three garnets, dating to 1850–1900, total weight 37.75 g, length about 42 to 49 cm, in good condition with signs of wear and no laboratory report.
Description from the seller
Refined ancient four-strand necklace crafted with Bohemian red garnets, dating to the Napoleonic era or the late 19th century (around 1880-1900).
The stones feature a distinctive antique diamond-cut facet with a milgrain-like effect, traditionally known as the millierine (or migliarine) cut, capable of capturing and reflecting light with every movement and imparting great brilliance.
The four strands gracefully descend along the décolletage and culminate in an elegant 18‑carat gold clasp worked by hand, adorned with three garnets set as a decoration. The clasp is in perfect mechanical condition and fully functional.
The length of the shortest strand is about 42 cm, while the longest reaches 48–49 cm. The average diameter of the stones is about 3 mm. The total weight of the jewelry is 37.75 g. The gold hallmark is not present (absolutely normal for the period in which it was made, but we tested it and it is confirmed as 18 kt gold).
The necklace remains in excellent overall condition, ready to wear or to collect.
The box shown in the photo is not included, but the necklace will be shipped in an appropriate box and packaging.
