AUTHENTICITY, CONDITION AND DOCUMENTATION

Verification of condition and authenticity is a central element of our activity. Jewelry in gold and silver, silverware, watches, signed clothing and accessories are examined according to the characteristics of the single item and the available documentation.

Any certificates or expert reports are provided when expressly indicated in the description or can be requested before offering, agreeing on availability, content and any costs. The expert review by Catawiki is separate from our expert activity and does not replace an individual certificate.

Description and photographs document the proposed item, its accessories and the declared conditions. For used or vintage items, signs of time and use are evaluated in relation to nature, era and the state of the item. Photographs complement the description without limiting responsibility for inaccurate characteristics or undisclosed defects.

Only accessories and documents expressly indicated are included. The brands mentioned belong to their respective owners; their mention identifies the objects and does not imply affiliation or authorization from the house.

PREPARATION, SHIPMENT AND DELIVERY

Each item is checked, cleaned or sanitized with methods compatible with the materials and its preservation, then carefully packaged.

Shipping is tracked and insured according to the service conditions used. Items may be in different warehouses: allow roughly 7–10 days for delivery, unless otherwise indicated in the order, for special destinations or customs delays. Shipping will occur within the terms provided by Catawiki and communicated for the order; the estimated delivery time does not constitute an extension of the shipping term.

Upon receipt, check the packaging. In the presence of dents, cuts, openings or breakages, ask the courier to note a specific reservation, if possible. We recommend photographing the package before and after opening and keeping packaging, protections and label to facilitate any insurance verifications.

The absence of a reservation, photographs or packaging does not automatically determine the loss of consumer rights. In consumer sales, the risk of transport is governed by art. 63 of the Consumer Code.

ASSISTANCE AND REPORTS

For any clarification or issue, contact us via the order message on Catawiki, indicating the lot number and describing what was found.

In case of damage, item not conforming to the description or missing content, promptly report the problem also to Catawiki support, preferably immediately and in any case within the 3 days provided by the platform procedure, to enable claim management and possible suspension of payment.

This operative term does not entail loss of the right of withdrawal or the legal warranty under applicable terms.

CONSUMER WITHDRAWAL

When the buyer acts as a consumer and legal requirements apply, they may exercise the right of withdrawal without justification within 14 days of receiving the item, pursuant to arts. 52 et seq. of Legislative Decree 206/2005, subject to exceptions provided by law.

The decision must be communicated by explicit declaration to the seller, also using the Catawiki procedure. The good must be resend within 14 days of the withdrawal notification.

For simple reconsideration, the direct cost of return is borne by the buyer, unless otherwise agreed. Amounts due by law and standard initial delivery costs will be reimbursed; higher costs of a more expensive delivery chosen by the buyer are not due.

The refund is made without undue delay and within the legal terms, with the possibility of suspending it until receipt of the item or proof of return, in accordance with the applicable regulations. Amounts collected directly by Catawiki are managed through the platform in accordance with respective competencies, subject to non-derogable rights.

The buyer is responsible for any decrease in value resulting from manipulations beyond those necessary to verify the nature, characteristics and functioning of the item, within legal limits.

LEGAL WARRANTY AND CONFORMITY DEFECTS

In consumer sales, the legal conformity warranty provided by arts. 128 et seq. of the Consumer Code also applies to used goods, taking into account prior use and contractually declared characteristics.

The standard duration of liability is two years from delivery. For used goods, any reduction, not less than one year, applies only if validly agreed and allowed by the applicable regulations.

In case of a conformity defect, the consumer is entitled to remedies provided by law: repair or replacement, where feasible, or reduction of price or contract termination when warranted.

Our commercial preference is to resolve valid disputes by returning the item and providing a full refund when appropriate, rather than negotiating informal discounts. This preference does not exclude mandatory remedies, including price reduction.

When return is due to a defect attributable to the seller, the necessary costs are borne by us within the terms of law. The costs for other cancellation scenarios are determined by the cause and the applicable provisions.

RETURNS, REPAIRS AND INTEGRITY OF THE ITEM

Before performing repairs, restorations, adjustments or interventions by third parties, contact us to allow problem verification and agree on a solution. Unauthorized interventions can alter the original state, compromise assessments and affect liability for damages or defects caused.

Automatic refunds for interventions commissioned to third parties are not provided. The buyer’s non-derogable rights remain: an unauthorized intervention does not, by itself, determine the loss of protection for defects independent of the intervention.

The returned item must include accessories and documents received and be protected with proper packaging. Please attach the order reference and, if available, a copy of the sale document. The original receipt is not the only acceptable proof of purchase.

EXTRA-UE SHIPMENTS AND CUSTOMS COMPLIANCE

For destinations outside the European Union, including the United Kingdom, Switzerland, China, Taiwan, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates, duties, taxes and customs clearance fees may apply, depending on the destination and order conditions. Amounts already collected by the platform should not be considered automatically due again.

When necessary, tax or identification data may be requested for customs clearance. The passport number will be requested only if actually required according to applicable rules or the carrier’s documented instructions or the competent authority.

We invite buyers to check import restrictions in advance. For items subject to special regulations, including CITES or cultural property, shipping remains subject to legal export/import possibility and to the necessary documents.

CLIENT IDENTIFICATION AND DATA PROTECTION

In the case of distance selling of jewelry subject to identification obligations, a valid identity document is requested and remote identification is performed according to the modalities provided by applicable law.

If indispensable information to comply with a legal obligation is missing, the transaction cannot be completed until regularized. Any cancellation and refund will be managed with Catawiki according to applicable regulations and conditions, without automatic exclusion of liability.

Personal data will be processed for contractual, fiscal, customs purposes and for applicable legal obligations, in compliance with EU Regulation 2016/679 and Legislative Decree 196/2003. Only data strictly necessary will be requested, with information on purposes, methods and retention periods.
