This selected object is a vintage alabaster trinket box (often referred to as a trinket box or jewelry box).
The box is made of alabaster, a soft natural stone known for its lightly translucent quality and natural veining. This particular round model is tinted in a coral red or orange shade and is finished with a metal rim on the bottom edge of the lid. One is 7.5 cm wide and the other is 13 cm wide and 6 cm tall; they are in good condition.

Het doosje is gemaakt van albast (alabaster), een zachte natuursteen die bekendstaat om zijn licht doorschijnende kwaliteit en natuurlijke aders. Dit specifieke ronde model is gekleurd in een koraalrode of oranje tint en is afgewerkt met een metalen rand aan de onderzijde van het deksel. De een 7.5 cm de ander is 13 cm breet en  6 cm hoog ze zijn in goede staat
