PAOLO CONTIN has developed a personal and ever-evolving artistic path for more than twenty-five years. Trained in design and active in the fashion world since 1980, he transfers to painting a special sensitivity to color, form, and compositional balance.
Since 1999 he has exhibited his works, and in 2002 he held his first solo show in Padua. This was followed by numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad, including appearances in Copenhagen, Munich, Paris, Brussels, Istanbul, Buenos Aires, and Sydney.
Paolo Contin's artistic journey is also documented by its presence in the Mondadori Art Catalog, with corresponding quotations. Over the years his works have also been published in Arte Mondadori magazine and in numerous catalogs and volumes produced for solo exhibitions and major art fairs, some of which were published with the support of the Italian Institute of Culture.
He was also among the founding members of Tostart, an artistic association born from the meeting of ten Venetian artists and active until the Pandemic period.
A versatile and independent artist, Contin has built over the years a recognizable language, distant from belonging to a single school or trend. His research traverses geometric abstraction, matter-based and gestural painting, alternating rigor and expressive freedom. Lines, blocks, geometric forms, and intense chromatic relationships become elements of a vocabulary through which he explores balance, movement, and emotion.
Experimentation also extends to sculpture and wood, with works built through the layering of geometric elements, confirming a search that goes beyond the confines of painting alone.
His work continues to evolve today without pre-set formulas: every work arises from the desire to preserve freedom, identity, and expressive authenticity."
