The Feathers Left Behind - Hand-signed, a 40 × 40 cm limited giclée print on canvas by Le Yack (Alexandre Pelletier) from France, produced in 2023, edition of 20, signed by the artist, with certificate of authenticity and ready to frame.
Description from the seller
On the black rocks of a sunset coastline, a deserted body lies wrapped in an ivory shroud. Around him, white feathers and reed branches soak in a golden wax. Higher up, a young man with dark wings watches, his head tilted, his hand resting on the other’s shoulder.
One recognizes the Icarus myth, but the painting refuses the spectacular fall: only silence afterward remains, the sea covering the feet, the sky fading on the horizon. It is a bedside piece of a mythology revised by academic painting.
An image of mourning and tenderness, where the beauty of the body answers to that of the shore.
A sunny and sensuous painting that smells of chlorine, salt, and the heat of the tiles.
