Paperweight (2) - Wood, Metal

Vintage paperweights in metal or patinated bronze depicting a sleeping dog as a Labrador puppy lying on a base shaped like a book bound in leather or wood.
The second and larger vintage paperweight shows a English Bulldog lying on a book-shaped base with a decorated cover.
Antique desk accessories that combine an animal sculpture with a practical function, made of bronze-effect metal on a shaped support like an antique volume.
Delightful antique paperweights, perfect for dog lovers or for those who appreciate reading. The sleeping dogs are made with a bronzed finish. It could actually be metal but we have no way to confirm. These paperweights are rather heavy for their size, almost 1500 grams. The dogs sleep on a replica of a book whose underside is lined with brown felt to protect furniture, and this felt seems to be original.
Measurements: The small Labrador 12 cm x 8 x 5, weight 280 g; the bulldog 18 x 12 x 6 cm, weight 1.1 kg.
