Character of the work
The Gilded Spirit presents a majestic, nearly mythical horse emerging from a space built of shadow, smoke, and luminous structures. The animal is not depicted as a mere portrait, but as a presence suspended between the real world and the abstract. Its silhouette appears like a fragment of a larger, unknown story – partly material, partly dissolving into the surrounding space. The composition builds a sense of power, freedom, and inner tension.

The central element of the work is the horse itself. Its dark, graphite-like outline is contrasted with a bright background, giving the impression that the animal is stepping out of darkness toward light. Its blown mane transitions into irregular, fluid structures that almost merge with the surroundings. This blurs the boundary between body and abstract matter. The horse does not seem fully belonging to the depicted world – it resembles a being that is only just emerging from it.

The most characteristic element of the composition is the golden accents scattered across the surface of the painting. They run through the mane, neck, and body of the horse, and also appear in the background as small splashes, lines, and flowing structures. The gold here serves not only a decorative function. It becomes a symbol of the energy hidden within the dark silhouette – something valuable that remains invisible until brought to the surface. The contrast between black and gold gives the work a ceremonial quality.

The surrounding abstract forms around the horse simultaneously resemble smoke, rock, ash, and flowing paint. Their irregularity introduces a sense of movement, as if the entire composition is in a state of constant transformation.
