MEDSAN - Naruto over Tokyo (東京を見下ろすナルト) - UNIQUE WORK

ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD EXISTS - EDITION 1/1

In this vertical format, Medsan seats Naruto Uzumaki, the ninja from Masashi Kishimoto's manga, with his back to the viewer on the edge of a rooftop overlooking Tokyo. Legs tucked, shoulders hunched, he gazes at the city stretching beneath him; his spiky blond hair, the long black strings of his forehead band that fall down his back, his navy blue and orange jacket marked with the red Uzumaki spiral, and the white emblem on his shoulder are visible.
On the left, the red-and-white Tokyo Tower rises above the buildings. A wide avenue runs straight toward the horizon between blue, gray and brick façades; cars leave red reflections from their lights on the wet pavement, and small pedestrians line the sidewalks. Pink and turquoise signs light up here and there, towers loom in the background. Above, the sky occupies the upper half, filled with blue, purple and white clouds in the evening light. A moment of calm above the city.

A contemplative piece, ideal to bring a touch of urban Japan to a collector’s manga-loving interior.

About Medsan / Popsan:
Medsan and Popsan are two artist signatures for one and the same artist. Under the name Medsan, he explores medicine and anatomy; under Popsan, he revisits icons of popular culture by blending pop art, Japanese art and anachronisms. On Catawiki, his pop works still appear under the name Medsan, but they belong to the Popsan universe. He creates at Atelier Joconde, a family-run artists' workshop, alongside Le Yack (figurative painting) and Neo Pablo (abstraction).
