MEDSAN - Batman Above the Sea of Fog (霧の海を見下ろすバットマン) - UNIQUE WORK

ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD EXISTS - EDITION 1/1

In this square format, Medsan raises Batman, DC Comics' vigilante, onto the stone ledge of a rooftop above Gotham City at dawn. Seen from behind, draped in his long black cape, he turns his head to the right, with the pointed-eared mask profile cut out of the mist, and gazes over the city. In front of him, the mossy balustrade corner ends with a gargoyle that leans over the void.
Lower down, a thick bank of fog blankets the streets: only Gothic spires and a tall square tower emerge, connected by a suspended bridge and a arch viaduct, while to the right modern skyscrapers rise toward the horizon. The sky expands from pearl gray to a pale yellow band where the sun rises. The palette remains restrained: blue-gray, deep black, olive stone green, with a touch of yellow. You sense the end of a long night on patrol.

A sober and striking piece, ideal for adding a touch of mystery to a contemporary collector’s interior of comics.

About Medsan / Popsan :
Medsan and Popsan are two signatures of a single artist. Under the name Medsan, he explores the world of medicine and anatomy; under the name Popsan, he revisits pop culture icons by blending pop art, Japanese art, and anachronisms. On Catawiki, his pop works still appear under the name Medsan, but they belong to the Popsan universe. He creates within the Atelier Joconde, a family artists’ workshop, alongside Le Yack (figurative painting) and Neo Pablo (abstraction).
