MEDSAN - Kintsugi Pikachu in the Rain (雨の中の金継ぎピカチュウ) - UNIQUE WORK

THERE IS ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD - EDITION 1/1

In this square format, Medsan seats Pikachu, the Pokémon mascot, under a night rain, on a dark ground where the drops draw circles in the puddles. The little character is all white, covered with flowers and blue swirls, and a network of fine dark cracks and wide golden lines runs across its head, belly, paws, one ear, and its thunderbolt-tail. Its cheeks are pink, the tip of its ears red, and its large midnight-blue eyes look straight ahead, with a small calm smile despite the downpour. A large green leaf placed on its head serves as an umbrella and lets a few drops run down. On the left, small white and blue flashes have detached from the ground, and golden specks still fall through the air. All around, a midnight blue sky streaked with light rain envelops the scene. At the bottom right, the cartouche メドサン in gray. The blue, white and warm gold tell of a fragility that holds firm.

A soft and touching piece, ideal for adding a touch of Japanese poetry to the interior of a collector or Pokémon fan.

About Medsan / Popsan:
Medsan and Popsan are two signatures of a single artist. Under the name Medsan, he explores the world of medicine and anatomy; under the name Popsan, he revisits icons of popular culture by mixing pop art, Japanese art and anachronisms. On Catawiki, his pop works still appear under the name Medsan, but they belong to the Popsan universe. He creates within Atelier Joconde, a family of artists’ workshop, alongside Le Yack (figurative painting) and Neo Pablo (abstraction).
