MEDSAN - Doraemon Summer Pool (夏のプールのドラえもん) - UNIQUE WORK

THERE IS ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD - EDITION 1/1

On this square format, Medsan sends Doraemon, the blue robot-cat from Fujiko F. Fujio's manga, on vacation in a pool in the height of summer. Lying in a pink inner tube, one arm behind the head and the feet raised, he closes his eyes with a broad smile and holds in one hand a large glass of orange juice garnished with a slice, a red hibiscus and a striped straw; his red collar and yellow bell gleam under the light. The turquoise water ripples on the blue tiling. To the left, in front of a white villa, a red parasol shelters a wooden deck chair where a blue-and-white striped towel dries, and on the wall a palm tree poster surmounts the words “GOOD SUMMER DAYS.” In the distance, behind the palms and pink bougainvillea, a bay of deep blue opens onto a city of white towers, mountains and three sailboats. The blue, white and a few touches of red compose an afternoon where nothing else matters.

A cool and joyful room, ideal for adding a touch of Japanese summer to a collector’s interior or to a Doraemon fan’s space.

About Medsan / Popsan:
Medsan and Popsan are two signatures of a single artist. Under the name Medsan, he explores the universe of medicine and anatomy; under the name Popsan, he revisits pop culture icons by blending pop art, Japanese art and anachronisms. On Catawiki, his pop works still appear under the name Medsan, but they belong to the Popsan universe. He creates at Atelier Joconde, a family artists’ workshop, alongside artists Le Yack (figurative painting) and Neo Pablo (abstraction).
