Seiko Precision Second Setting Pocket Watch with Bold Arabic Numerals, reference 6110-0010, manual-winding 21-jewel calibre 6110A, chromed case with diameter greater than 50 mm, weight about 82 g, produced in 1970–1979, in working order.
Description from the seller
Introduction
A handsome Seiko Precision open-face pocket watch powered by a manual-winding 21-jewel movement, presenting a crisp white dial with bold Arabic numerals, sword-style hands, a central seconds hand, and the legend 'SECOND SETTING' — indicating the dedicated second-setting function that allows the crown to snap the seconds hand to zero for precise synchronisation. The case carries an ACRP plating mark on the exterior caseback alongside the reference 6110-0010 and the production code 660415. No railway-issue stamp is present.
Historical / Era context
The calibre 6110A movement visible inside is a well-regarded manual-winding platform, fitted with 21 jewels and a regulator index for rating adjustment. The 'Precision' designation was Seiko's grade label for higher-quality pocket-watch movements during the mid-to-late Showa era. The ACRP code on the caseback denotes a white base-metal plating.
Condition
The watch is running, with a measured rate of approximately -1 minute 30 seconds per day (losing). The watch was checked lying flat (dial up) after a full wind. This is a spot check at the time of listing; as a vintage mechanical watch the rate in actual wear varies with position and winding state, and long-term accuracy is not guaranteed. As a vintage timepiece it may benefit from a service.
Case: The case body retains a good level of polish on the bezel rim and midcase. The caseback exterior shows scattered surface marks and light scuffing consistent with age and handling; the plating shows moderate wear with some cloudiness and minor flaking patches visible on the back surface. The bow and crown are intact and functional.
Dial: The white dial is clean and very legible. The printed Arabic numerals and text are sharp with no notable fading. I can see no cracks, lifting, or significant staining.
Crystal: The acrylic crystal is in good condition overall; it carries light surface scratches from normal use but remains clear and does not obstruct the dial.
Movement: The watch is running. With the caseback opened, the calibre 6110A movement is visible — a Japanese manual-winding 21-jewel mechanism. The plates and bridges show a clean, well-finished surface, and the jewels are seated correctly. The regulator index is present for fine adjustment.
Accessories: No box, papers, or chain are included. The watch is offered as shown.
Please review all photographs carefully for the detailed condition.
