C. Plinii Secundi - Historiae Mundi Libri XXXVII. - 1606

“C. Plinii Secundi Historiae Mundi Libri XXXVII.” 1606.

Rare edition with a nicely gold-embossed contemporary leather binding. With gold-tooled coat-of-arms on the front and back boards as well as gold-embossed spine and gilded edges.

The binding is badly rubbed. The joints are split at the bottom, the spine shows small losses at the top and bottom. Front and back boards show some light leather flaws (partially slightly raised) as well as isolated damages. The edges are bumped and the gold edges are somewhat faded.

The title page is heavily creased, and the outer margin, at the top and bottom, has losses. The following leaf is similarly badly creased and has a bottom margin loss with text deficiency. Overall the first six leaves are creased, with the creases diminishing from leaf to leaf.

The remaining pages are in good condition, sometimes with slight browning and some stains, occasionally with light marginal stains.
