"Not your doll" - "I am not your doll" is a series where I intend to represent the faces of women with features reminiscent of the most classic dolls, and the message is: even if I look like a real doll, I am not a doll, your doll, and you can do whatever you want with me, with all that lies behind it, up to, unfortunately, violence.

Born in 1974, I am self-taught.
After an initial period devoted to sculpture, there was a long stop of almost twenty years. Since December 2014 I returned to the “two dimensions” for time and space reasons, putting sculpture aside and focusing on acrylic paintings.
I love painting abstract landscapes, but recently I’ve been pushing myself to paint faces of people, both imagined and real.
For me, painting is about "freezing time" in that exact moment; a painting of mine is often a faded memory and thus my works are "worn, eroded by time". Sometimes the subjects of my paintings are street views of walls, also eroded by time, with moss and mushrooms that, over time, grow on the surface. The unstoppable passage of time is the main theme of my works.
Coming from a wonderful experience with clay manipulation, I love sculpture, the third dimension, the sense of touch, and my paintings are often characterized by reliefs that are clearly perceptible to the touch as well as to the eye.
Recently, after several years in which my works were created from scraps of recycled paper forming figures, I’m pushing myself to explore Optical Art where I use painted wooden discs arranged in lines and grids with mathematical rigor that up close seem to form a colorful abstract painting, but the further you move away, a portrait emerges from the many painted wooden discs.
Violence against women is a theme that characterizes almost all of my works when I reproduce female faces, precisely to give them a voice when they do not have the strength or courage to report the fact that they are not their partner’s dolls and cannot be mistreated or, worse, victims of violence.
