Antique Lambrecht’s Wettertelegraph weather station from Germany, a single object with dimensions 46 cm high, 37 cm wide and 7 cm deep, made of mercury, glass, wood and enamel, in good condition with minor signs of aging and spots.
Description from the seller
This is an antique Lambrecht’s Wettertelegraph (weather station) from the German manufacturer Wilhelm Lambrecht of Göttingen, made around 1910 in carved oak.
Main components of the device:
• Thermo-Hygroskop: The left upper dial measures humidity and temperature-related values.
• Holosteric Barometer: The right upper dial measures atmospheric pressure.
• Thermometer: The glass tube in the middle shows the temperature (often fragile or missing in older examples).
• Instruction plates ("Lambrecht's Wettertelegraph"): Printed graphical weather forecasts under glass from which you could read upcoming weather (such as drought, heat, or thunderstorms) from the gauge readings.
• Zeigerstand (for 8 Uhr Morgens): An adjustable marking mechanism at the bottom to compare the morning 8:00 reading with the reading later in the day.
