Description from the seller
This is a pair of twin five-armed candelabras, characterized by a design that fuses the purity of the geometric lines of the modern movement with the excellence of Argentine artisanal silversmithing.
The Shaft and the Spheres: The central structure rises from the base with a stylized, smooth conical shaft. The vertical axis is interrupted by two textured ornamental spheres (a lower one that acts as the joining knot and an upper one crowning the axis). These spheres feature a rough or finely chiseled finish that intentionally contrasts with the mirror-polished rest of the piece.
The Arms: From the central knot emerge four curved tubular arms of circular section. They spread symmetrically in a 'U' shape or stylized volute, rising to the same height as the central burner to form the five light points on a single horizontal plane.
The Burners and Rings: Each arm terminates in a smooth cylindrical burner flaring at the mouth, designed to receive standard candles. The fixed dishes or integrated rings are subtle and minimalist.
The Base and Markings: The set rests on a convex, smooth circular base, free of mouldings. On the outer peripheral edge of the base, two hand-stamped marks are applied by golpe: a vertical elliptical cartridge (indicative of the contrast in metal purity) and an upper circular seal that corresponds to the workshop mark or the silversmith’s authorship.
