Nepalese gold‑plated copper singing bowl titled Engraved sutra bowl, dating to 1990–2000, with hammered copper body, full‑scale seal script scripture and Buddha preaching scene carvings, inner lotus engraving, outer bottom cross vajra surrounded by upward lotus petals, deep resonant sound, and no stand.
Description from the seller
Singing bowl, also known as Buddhist sound bowl, is a traditional Buddhist meditation and sound therapy instrument. The low resonance produced by percussion assists meditation in meditation.
This singing bowl has exquisite craftsmanship. The copper body has been repeatedly hammered into shape, and the entire body is gilded. The outer wall is decorated with full-scale chisel carvings: one side is arranged with the entire seal script scripture; the other side is chiselled with a scene of Buddha preaching. The main Buddha sits in lotus position, with his head covered and surrounded by attendants, and auspicious clouds flying in the sky.
The inner bottom of the bowl is secretly engraved with a precious lotus flower, and the outer bottom is engraved with a cross vajra pattern in the center, surrounded by a pattern of upward lotus petals. The sound is deep and deep when struck, and the aftertaste is long and dense.
