Description from the seller

Pair of historical advertising posters - Official reprints by Ricordi for "Grazia" (1970)

The lot consists of two splendid historical advertising posters in Belle Époque and Art Deco style, printed in Italy in 1970. They are famous official licensed reproductions granted by the historic Officine Grafiche Ricordi of Milan and distributed as a special collectible insert of the magazine "Grazia" in 1970.
The lot includes:
1. E. & A. Mele & C. Napoli - Primaria Casa in Confezioni: Iconic fashion advertising poster originally created in the early 20th century for the Mele Department Stores of Naples, symbol of Italian elegance. Illustration by the renowned artist Marcello Dudovich. The slogan reads "Massimo Buon Mercato".
2. Teatro Solís - Grandes Veglioni - Carnaval 1923 Montevideo: Splendid Art Deco graphic originally created by master Leopoldo Metlicovitz for the masquerade balls of Montevideo's Carnival (Uruguay) in 1923.
Details and Conditions:
• Publisher/Print: Off. G. Ricordi & C. Milano / Official Grazia attachment (1970).
• Dimensions: Approximately 46 x 65 cm each.
• Condition: Vintage condition, discreet/good. As visible in the detail photos, the posters show obvious paper waves and halos/stains caused by prior humidity, especially on the white background and along the lower edges. The colors and aesthetic rendering of the subjects remain vivid and pleasant. Normal signs of aging on the frames well evident in the gallery.
Sold complete with frame and glass ready to hang].

Seller's Story

For over 20 years, I have dedicated myself passionately to the search for and trading of special, rare, curious objects from any era. Every piece I select has something that catches my attention: it can be the shape, the story, the unusual aspect, or simply that detail that makes it unique. I am always searching for objects that speak, that tell something to those who know how to listen. I choose them carefully, photograph them honestly, and describe them as accurately as possible. Selling on this Catawiki to share this passion with those who, like me, love to surround themselves with things with a soul.
