A bit of history:
"A playful leopard has slipped into the heart of a baobab flower. For the Zulu kings, this majestic feline embodied the nobility of their status, while the baobab represented power and grace. The flowers of this gigantic tree only open at dusk at the moment the leopard goes in search of its prey. By the play of the composition, the animal and the plant merge into a single being crowned with a halo of white-dotted feathers.
Created in 1985 by Fée Halsted, the Hardmore Artists collective is dedicated to promoting the traditional style and imagery of KwaZulu-Natal province in South Africa".
