Very rare painting (museum piece) from the series devoted to music and opera --- Oil painting on paper applied to canvas by Domenico Morelli, “Theatrical Scene” Don Carlos by Giuseppe Verdi, 1867. The measurements are 29 x 39 cm, plus the period frame 38 x 48 cm, all in excellent condition. Verdi's opera was performed for the first time on March 11, 1867 in Paris. Morelli also collaborated with Giuseppe Verdi on other scenographies and formed a solid friendship with him. The painting is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and legitimate provenance.
