Map of his 80th invaded city, composed of 53 mosaics (for a total of 2030 points)

Invader is one of the best-known street artists in the world while remaining… perfectly anonymous!

His name Invader, the pseudonym used to keep his identity, comes from the 1978 arcade game Space Invaders.

He defines himself as an AVNI, an Anonymous Living Artist, his face always masked during his performances.

With a unique style, the artist became known for “invading,” in his own words, the cities of his creations: the Space Invader project consists of “invading” urban space with space invaders, mosaics drawing from the 8-bit aesthetic of the first video games with ultra-pixelated digital characters.

Invader’s approach can be summarized in three points: the meeting of mosaic and pixel, translating a video game into reality, and a planet-scale invasion process.

In addition to urban aliens, whose number is constantly evolving, there are the “Aliases,” i.e., the double of a mosaic in situ that can be seen in galleries, in museums, or with a few lucky collectors. Destined for the art market, the “Aliases” are made on plexiglass panels and house an identification card with information (metadata) about the mosaic in situ: serial number and photo of the source mosaic, installation date and chronological number, address, size, score, etc. Invader records everything!
Each of his works is unique. His repertoire of characters now extends to Star Wars, The Pink Panther, or Mega Man. In Hong Kong, his works evoke martial arts where red and gold tones reflect traditional Chinese colors of earth and fire.

Invader is part of the same artistic current as his friends Shepard Fairey aka Obey and Banksy, his cousin Mr. Brainwash, or artists like JonOne, Kaws, Seen, JR, M.Chat, Imbue, Pantone, Arsham, Keith Haring, Koons, Cattelan, Murakami, Stik, and many others.
