This work is part of the ETANG series.
This series arises from a photographic walk around a pond, in the Paris region with a public health purpose. The perspective from the point of view blurs the understanding of the subject, which becomes abstract.
Born in 1979, she lives and works at the edge of the world opposite a beach – Plougonvelin, Finistère Nord.
Diplomaed with a Bac Arts Appliqués in 1997, she did not pursue formal artistic studies and moved toward social professions. But drawing and painting caught up with her and in 2019 she decided to devote most of her time to her artistic practice.
Always drawn to what one does not want to see—urban landscapes, industrial wastelands—she begins by painting series largely in acrylic. Colorful urban landscapes where nature intermingles. Recently, her artistic practice has diversified into modeling and other 3D objects, as well as photography and sound recording.
My artistic work plunges into the heart of landscapes, whether shaped by human hands or left to the evolution of nature.
The observation I make after various on-site landscape research and encounters: the landscape is always shaped by human hands, but it is also a construction in its representation in art: the invention of perspective modulates our gaze toward the landscape.
My artistic approach questions the relationship between humans and their environment. How do human technical capacities transform a natural landscape? How does nature develop without intervention? What is our physical, intimate link to these places? How does our gaze perceive these spaces?
My work is built in series, around geographic points identified by their GPS coordinates. Each work is a sensory reconstruction of the place, where I gather clues—colors, forms, geometries, natural elements, sound atmospheres—to convey a holistic vision of these landscapes and the atmosphere felt on site. I employ various techniques, materials, and media for this: paintings, drawings, modeling, photography, screen printing, watercolors.
"The situational visuals are AI visualizations based on photographs of the real object. The photographs of the real object are definitive."
