AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

A very beautifully painted impression of an old cityscape in oil on canvas, of a alley looking toward the tower of the Buurkerk in the inner city of Utrecht.
The Buurkerk was, until 1125, the only church for the Utrecht citizenry, a so-called parish church.
The 55-metre-high tower, belonging to the Buurkerk, dates from 1388. Since 1984 the church—a Rijksmonument—houses the "Museum Speelklok tot Pierement".
Henk Bellaard was born on 16 November 1896 in Dordrecht, received lessons from several painters including W. de Reus and M. Adamse, through which he painted still lifes, landscapes, and cityscapes.
In 1939 he, in collaboration with some other painters, organized the decorations for the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Dutch Railways.
For the Philips factory in Eindhoven, he made a Diorama, created drawings for the Caran d’Ache factory in Geneva.
Henk Bellaard was appointed in 1947 as a teacher at the Vrije Academie Artibus, but had already been employed as a teacher since 14 April 1943 at the Stichts Genootschap Artibus.
The painting with its matching frame is in good condition (see accompanying photos).

The whole is carefully packaged, registered shipping with track and trace.
No shipments to countries outside the EU.
