Description from the seller
Banana Geisha Hat – Ama Edition
Banana Geisha Hat playfully pairs the timeless elegance of the geisha with the bold, provocative visual language of Pop Art.
This Ama edition pays homage to traditional Japanese divers, the Ama, famous for their pearl harvesting. Four genuine 6 mm freshwater pearls are embedded in the kanzashi, the traditional Japanese hair ornament.
The epoxy resin, with a high-gloss ultra finish, intentionally preserves a subtle movement of organic waves on its surface, evoking the sea in which the pearls are harvested.
The intense Klein blue, the vibrant red and the bright yellow compose a striking work where Japanese aesthetics, humor and cultural heritage meet.
Technique: Acrylic, oil and epoxy resin with an organic wave effect, with four genuine freshwater pearls (6 mm), on canvas.
