Description from the seller
The Jaeger-LeCoultre AMVOX2 Chronograph Concept is a revolutionary pilot watch born in 2006 to celebrate the historic partnership between the Swiss manufacture and the Aston Martin automotive house. Its fundamental characteristic is the absolute absence of traditional chronograph pushers. The Innovation: The Vertical Trigger Chronograph The heart of the concept is based on a mechanical system patented by Jaeger-LeCoultre called the vertical-trigger: Functioning: The entire 44 mm case is mounted on ball bearings and oscillates longitudinally. The chronograph is activated by pressing directly on the sapphire crystal. The Controls: Pressing the crystal at 12 o’clock starts the chronograph and stops it; pressing at 6 o’clock resets it. This system was designed for pilots, allowing the time to be operated easily even while wearing driving gloves. Safety Selector: On the left profile of the case (at 9 o’clock) there is a sliding switch that mechanically locks the mechanism to prevent accidental activations or resets. Design and Mechanics Aesthetics Automotive: The dial reproduces the instrumentation of Aston Martin sports cars, with numbers arranged radially and a hollow area at the bottom that evokes vintage odometers. The crown takes the shape of a classic fuel cap. The Movement: Housing the manufacture caliber JLC 751B (or 751E depending on the version), a self-winding chronograph movement equipped with a column wheel, vertical clutch and twin mainspring barrels, capable of delivering 65 hours of power reserve. Materials and recognizability: Originally released in a limited edition, the “Concept” stands out for the use of hi-tech materials such as Grade 5 titanium.
