Anne-Tjerk Mante presents Rhythm of the trees I, an original 2026 felt-tip drawing in a Neo-Expressionist landscape style, 20 by 29 cm, hand-signed, in excellent condition and sold directly from the artist.
Description from the seller
This drawing, made with acrylic markers, relates as well to rhythm as to the landscape. The drawing is based on observation, somewhere between fields and forests in the Dutch Achterhoek. In addition to rhythm, form, light, color, and depth are the basic ingredients of this space and this tranquil drawing.
Anne-Tjerk Mante (1969) is a Dutch painter and alumnus of the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague.
As a painter he mainly works with oil paint and acrylic on linen or canvas. As a draftsman he enjoys working with various kinds of markers, colored pencils, and sometimes with (oil) pastel crayons. His technique ranges from expressive to surrealist accents, driven by a deep fascination with the universe, light, and the natural landscape. His works largely arise from the inspiration provided by the natural landscape. Yet his work spans from almost abstract images—characterized by space and calm—to the colorfulness and liveliness of a funfair.
Through painting and drawing, he undertakes a continuous journey of discovery through the (in)visible world. His engaging creations form a quest to capture beauty and wonder.
