Kienzle Da Taschino pocket watch with manual winding movement, steel case, 45 mm diameter, weight 100 g, in good condition with visible wear, shipped insured and in working order.
Description from the seller
Kienzle Vintage Shockproof – German mechanical pocket watch with central seconds, a two-tone 45 mm case and a dial with stylized Arabic numerals.
Interesting vintage pocket watch signed Kienzle, a historic German manufactory whose origins go back to 1822, known for producing mechanical watches, time-measuring instruments, and timepieces intended for daily use.
This specimen, presumably dating from the 1960s or 1970s, represents an interesting interpretation of the modern pocket watch, characterized by a minimalist design, compact dimensions, and a traditional mechanical configuration.
The round case measures 45 mm in diameter and has a thickness of 10 mm. The metal construction features a combination of silvered and gold finishes, with a rounded profile and a screw-down case back.
The cream-white dial presents large black Arabic numerals with a distinctive slanted graphic, a peripheral minute track with small markers, and three central hands for hour, minute, and second. The KIENZLE signature is placed under the 12 o’clock position, while at the bottom there is the inscription SHOCKPROOF, indicating the presence of a shock protection system for the movement.
The gold crown is located at the 12 o’clock position, partially protected by the upper metal bow intended for attaching a pocket chain.
Inside there is a manually wound mechanical movement. The photographs show the movement construction, with winding wheels, balance wheel, and regulation system. The movement bears technical engravings, but the exact caliber identification has not been confirmed.
The metal back is openable and provides access to the movement. The internal structure of the case shows clear signs of oxidation and surface alterations, consistent with the preservation of a vintage watch.
From an aesthetic point of view, the dial remains highly legible and features a particularly characteristic design. The case shows scratches, signs of wear, patina, and alterations of the metal finishes. The back shows superficial scratches, while the interior reveals localized oxidation.
No documentation is available regarding a recent service. Running accuracy, power reserve, and regularity of operation are not certified.
An interesting pocket watch for enthusiasts of Kienzle production, German mechanical watchmaking, and vintage timepieces with functional design.
