SyrocoWood - Signed “V. Ivanoff” - Wall plate - Wood - Voortrekker wagon scene

Large decorative wall plaque produced by SyrocoWood (Syracuse Ornamental Company, New York, USA), depicting a richly detailed Great Trek / ox-wagon migration scene.

The relief shows a wagon drawn by cattle, accompanied by figures and livestock, rendered with clear depth and fine detail. This type of scene is associated with the historical Great Trek migrations and is often linked on the market to commemorating the centenary in 1938.

The plaque is signed with “V. Ivanoff” in the lower right corner. Similar examples attribute this design to an Ivanoff model or cut; however, this piece is a molded product of SyrocoWood and not a unique hand-carved artwork.

Manufactured in Syroco’s characteristic wood-pulp composition, designed to look carved in wood, the plaque has substantial weight and a convincing pictorial presence.

The original SyrocoWood label (Syracuse, N.Y.) is present on the back.

A large and visually striking statement piece, ideal for classic, rustic, or historic interiors.
